2008 SAFETY RULES
1. Drip pans are mandatory. Any entrant disposing of fuels or lubricants in the pit area or track, by pouring or spilling such fuels or lubricants upon the ground, may be subject to expulsion from the event. All lubricants used or unused are the responsibility of the participant. There is no disposal of fuels or lubricants available for participants at the track. You must pack it out with you.
2. An operable fire extinguisher is required in each entrant's pit. A minimum 1lb dry chemical (rated A-B-C type) or equivalent extinguisher is required. The club supplies a 10lb extinguisher in the grid and 5lb extinguisher in each corner flagging area.
3. A first aid kit with a minimum of Band-Aids and first aid cream is required in each entrant's pit.
4. To reduce the chance of a motor fuel ignition, there will be no test firing of motors without the spark plug installed.
5. There will be no ground testing of engines unless there is someone in the kart or the kart is abutted against an appropriate barricade. If on a stand, engine testing must be only for limited evaluation. Extended running, such as break-in or dialing in, must be done on the track.
6. No unleashed pets allowed in the pit area during practice and race events. Owners of disruptive animals may be asked to remove them.
7. No one under the age of 11 years old is allowed in the pit area without adult supervision.
8. Bikes, skate boards, roller skates, or motorcycles, etc. shall not be operated in an unsafe manner in the pit area during race events. The race director has authority to police the pit area and ask for the cessation of the offending activity.
9. The use of alcoholic beverages and/or illegal drugs is prohibited during any race or practice day. After the track is closed for the day, the local laws governing use of alcohol shall apply.
10. All injuries occurring while on the premises of the Tri City Kart Club shall be reported to the race director or his/her representative on the same day of the accident.
11. Everyone shall have on his or her person pit passes while in the pit area or on the track. Passes must be displayed.
12. At regional race events, there will be no parking of any cars, RVs or tow vehicles in the pit area. All vehicles must be parked outside the gate in the designated parking area. At club races, such vehicles will be tolerated within the pit boundaries but the owners must park in a fashion to allow safe egress of other vehicles.
13. Violation of any safety rules during races may result in disqualification from that day racing by a club official with concurrence from the race director. Violation of any safety rules during practice days may result in withdrawal of practice privilege by a club official.
